There emerge some problems about the content of Chinese television people’s livelihoodnews, such as homogenization, trivialization, after its prosperity of a decade and a decline in therecent years. The thesis intends to collect the existing policies, analyze the factors affecting theprogramming from a fresh new perspective and then put forward some methods for thedevelopment of television people’s livelihood news.TV people’s livelihood news consists of the intrinsic quality, programming, packaging andthe external format of the news. The programming deals with the content of news andmeanwhile sorts them based on a clear channel positioning and in accordance with thepsychology and viewing habits of the audience. Programming has been in the auxiliary positionfor the past years. However, with the intensified competition in the TV market, thechoreography as the last link in the television transmission process, begin to play anincreasingly important role. Only by making a reasonable arrangement of the content can a fileof people’s livelihood news gets the expected effect of spread.With the rapid social and economic development, the new media changes with eachpassing day, and meanwhile the audience market is being subdivided and the content of onechannel narrowed. Broadcast programming has become an important way of expandingaudience groups and enhancing the competitiveness of television media. In this paper, the writerintends to select the people’s livelihood news of lifestyle channel of Shandong TV and analyzethe programming of television people’s livelihood news with the case study method.The thesis mainly deals with the main topic from four parts.The first part is an overview of the choreography of television people’s livelihood news.First, it introduces the background and stages of development of the television people’slivelihood news: the period of rapid development (2002-2006); the bottleneck period (2006-2010); the reflecting and transition period (2010-). Second, it defines the meaning and the roleof programming in TV people’s livelihood news. Third, it summarizes6files of the people’slivelihood news.The second part deals with the strategies of programming the whole column from threeaspects: the programming strategies within a channel, between the channels and the overall programming strategies in a TV station. This chapter takes people’s livelihood news ofShandong TV life channel as a model and makes a complete and systematic analysis of the useof programming strategies.Part three focuses on analyzing the factors affecting the people’s livelihood news fromthree aspects, such as program positioning, audience behavior and market demand. First it dealswith this from channel and program positioning. Second it does this from the psychologicaldemands of the audience, the audience rating and the internal connection of the programming;at last, it does this from the advertising and competitors.The fourth part mainly centers on the upgrading and transformation of the programming ofthis kind of news: the audience should dominate the programming of television people’slivelihood news instead of the TV station and the editors take an overall lead instead of thejournalists.Lastly, this article can offer some help to the practical operation of the media group fromthe perspective of the choreography and enrich the programming theories of the people’slivelihood news.
