Cuprous oxide (Cu2O) is a type of p semiconductor with a direct band gap, and its forbidden band width is about2.17eV. Cu2O is a rare one which can be catalyzed by sunlight in numerous semiconductor photocatalyst materials, and it has characteristics such as low energy consumption, non-toxic, high utilization, low cost and so on, so the preparation and photocatalytic performance of the Cu2O are becoming hot spots of current research. In this paper, silk derivatives(sericin, silk peptide) are used as the surfactant, and copper acetate (Cu(CH3COO)2-H2O) is used as the copper source, then the Cu2O micro/nano-crystals are prepared by using method of aqueous solution at room temperature, solvent hot method, ultrasonic method and using different reducing agent, the main content is as follows:1. The copper acetate solution is deoxidated by ascorbic acid at room temperature, the hollow spherical Cu2O nanoparticles are prepared with a diameter of400nm. The obtained production is characterized by XRD, FESEM, EDX, UV, etc. And the reaction conditions have also been studied systematically.2. In the autoclave, the cauliflower shape Cu2O with a particle size of about4micron is prepared with glucose as the reducing agent and the reaction temperature is100℃. The obtained production is characterized by XRD, FESEM, EDX, UV, etc. And the reaction conditions have also been studied systematically.3. Under the condition of ultrasonic, the octahedral Cu2O with a particle size of about1micron is prepared by using fructose as the reductant. The obtained production is characterized by XRD, FESEM, EDX, UV, etc. And the reaction conditions have also been studied systematically.4. The product with the best morphology is taken out respectively from the each of the three obtained products using different methods above to test their photocatalytic performance, and a home-made500W xenon lamp is used to simulate the sun. The results show that the octahedral Cu2O samples obtained with10min ultrasonic wave silk peptide as the surfactant has the best photocatalytic performance, and the efficiency is about98.12%.5. The double shell nanostructured Cu2O prepared by the aqueous solution at room temperature method are taken out to test its antibacterial properties, the results show that the products of this morphology have a minimum bacteriostatic concentration (MIC) of200ug/ml, and a minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) of400ug/ml.
