In the past few years, FOPA has been concerned by researchers domestic and aboard. FOPA has attracted people’s attention for its excellent amplification performance. It is an optical fiber amplifier that has a good prospect. The excellent performance of the fiber optical parametric amplifier in which not only provides a flat gain, but also has a very wide gain bandwidth. In optical fiber communication, FOPA spreads the available bandwidth of the communication system. This paper studies on the noise characteristic of broadband fiber optical parametric amplifier and it’s detailed work focuses on:We summed up the history of the development of optical fiber communication and optical amplifiers, and the optical parametric amplifier research status at home and abroad. We derived parametric amplifier coupled mode equations according to the wave equation, and made an analysis of the phase matching conditions that impacts the amplifier performance of FOPA. On the parameters amount amplifier some specific factors, such as by stimulated Brillouin scattering, polarization effects and zero-dispersion wavelength fluctuations, we also made a brief analysis.According to parametric amplifier coupled mode equations, we derived the equation of the quantum noise and pump transfer noise. We made an analysis of the pump light power, the influence of the initial signal optical power and the gain fiber length of the noise of the signal light. We analyzed the presence of fluctuations in the zero-dispersion wavelength in the optical fiber, and according to the existing gain bandwidth tolerance fluctuations in zero-dispersion wavelength, made a similar analysis. We made a simultaneous analysis of the influence of noise, when FOPA has different pump light power and the fiber length of the different gain fluctuations in the zero-dispersion wavelength. And select a different pump power to do a brief analysis on the anti-Stokes and Stokes parametric amplifier band.
