With the development of science and technology, switched systems as a kind of important hybrid mixed dynamic system, has received more and more attention. With the increasing demand for the reliability of the systems in many industrial processes, fault-tolerant control is a new way to improve the security and reliability of the system. Therefore, much attention has been paid to the problem of fault-tolerant in switched systems. At present we have made many achievements in continuous system, however, the research on the discrete-time systems is still relatively lack. Therefore, the study of fault-tolerant control for uncertain discrete-time switched system has very important significance.Based on the Lyapunov function, we considered the related issues of fault-tolerant control for uncertain discrete-time switched system by linear matrix inequalities, the main contents in this thesis are as follows:Firstly, we introduce the background and the research situation of the switched system, review the development situation of fault-tolerant control for switched system, sum up the significance of switched system. Then we introduce the basic knowledge which including model and characteristics of switched system, Lyapunov function and its related theory, linear matrix inequality (LMI) and S-procedure. Meanwhile, some inequalities and lemmas are presented.Secondly, we discuss the fault-tolerant control for uncertain discrete-time switched system, uncertain discrete-time switched system with time-delay, and uncertain discrete-time switched system with nonlinear term respectively. First a sufficient condition for the existence of state feedback fault-tolerant controllers is obtained by using the Lyapunov function and LMI when the actuator is totally or partly out of control. Then by means of the LMI, the design of fault-tolerant controllers is transformed into the feasible problem of a certain LMI system. Finally, a numerical example is given to show the feasibility of the results. Finally, concluding remarks are presented, and some problems are also pointed out, which deserve further study.
