| Semiconductor industry has been developed for dozens of years. During fast and fierce competition, work becomes more and more sophisticated in order to meet diversified and fickle demand in system and end electrical product market. Meantime, process and technology has gotten a very big improvement. When semiconductor industry started, there was only Integrated Devices Manufacturer (IDM). Today, besides Integrated Devices Manufacturer, more fabless semiconductor companies, IC design service companies and IP companies are providing more service and choices for the market. Because of all of these companies’efforts and focusing on different market segment, semiconductor industry continues growing fast in past years, and will be continued fast in the future. Rapidly Dropping of IC cost, further promotes the whole electronics industry’s growth and development. Nevertheless, sophisticated division of work causes the complexity of supply chain management in semiconductor industry. The management&improvement of semiconductor supply chain becomes more and more important, especially the cycle time.Taking IC design service company X as an research object, this paper mainly studied and analyzed the reason why there was an IC design service company and its future, with a result that the management ability of supply chain has been one of the core competitive factors for company’s survival and growth. With the study of the theories of supply chain management, the paper provides detailed analysis for semiconductor supply chain. Based on the study and analysis of X company’s supplier selection, sales forecast, production control, logistics, the paper provides a detail solution for supply chain management and how to shorten supply chain’s cycle time. The proposal is also a reference for fabless semiconductor companies, other IC design service companies, and some integrated devices manufacturers who need to improve competitiveness by effective supply chain management to shorten its cycle time. |
