Urine volume is one of the most important indicators which can reflect body tissueperfusion and fluid balance. In clinical work, they are critical evidences for medicalworkers in diagnosing patient condition and formulating treatment program. Traditionalmethods used in monitoring urine volume are mostly human observation methods,which may not only increase workload of medical workers, but also be easy to makemistake for delayed observation, even cause medical accidents. With the development ofwireless communication technology, RF transmission technology is widely used in allaspects of life, including medical field. RF technology is with the advantages of flexibleused, maintainable and scalability, also construction easily, therefore, to design a medicalurine volume monitoring and warning system based on RF technology is of greatsignificance to reduce medical staff’s workload and improve the effect of monitoring.This paper first demonstrated the necessity and feasibility of the designing ofwireles urine volume monitoring system based on RF technology, and then, described theoverall framework of the system. And then, described the components selection andhardware design, such as the selection and design of the sensor, RF905transceivermodule control and the design of the alarm and display circuit.Software of the system is written by C language, every part of the program waswritten in modular and structuered programming ideas. The software portion of thispaper focuses on the RF905control code, and then describes the operation process of thesystem ware.The experiments show that each subsystem of this system can work properly, suchas the sensor could monitoring urine level points effectivly. The tests of RF905 communication show that the effective transmission distance is more than50meters.This design provides a practical solution for the automatic mornitoring of urinevolume, and laid the foundation for its future application.
