The construction of Strong Smart Grid is one of the most important things in the next five-year plans. Advanced sensing measurement technology provides the important guarantee for building a new modern grid. Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensing is an emerging sensing technology in recent decades. The sensing function of FBG is achieved by change of the reflection wavelength with the change of the external physical quantity. FBG sensing has obvious advantages in the application of power industry. Because this kind of sensor have many excellent features. For example, it is not easily affected by external environmental condition, resistance to electromagnetic interference and passive etc. The FBG wavelength demodulation technology in monitoring high frequency vibration signal is researched and carried out in this thesis, the application of FBG sensing in motion monitoring of power transmission line is researched.Firstly, this thesis researches the theoretical model of FBG, the basic optical transmission characteristics, the theories of temperature and strain sensing of FBG, several common demodulation techniques of the distributed FBG sensor system, and FBG sensor network, as well as several common multiplexing techniques. Secondly, a new demodulation system to detect high frequency vibration signal based on the traditional Fabry-Perot(F-P) tunable filter is designed and carried out through the experiment, the results of the experiment are compared and analyzed. Thirdly, this thesis writes a C++program for real-time data receiving, vibration waveform display and data processing, a vibration simulation test and a strain test are carried out, and then get the software support for the further research on the engineering practice in motion monitoring of transmission line. The location of the monitoring stations, measurement criterion and installation fixed way are given. Analysis the ideal demodulation results in a time dancing situation with the new demodulation scheme. Finally, according to the above study, this thesis provides the network mode of motion monitoring of transmission line, which combines wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) and space division multiplexing (SDM).
