When some components are failure, Fault-tolerant control system can be still based on theoriginal performance indicators or performance indicators slightly lower, but in the acceptablerange, and safely complete the control tasks. Fault-tolerant control is an important technologyto improve control system security. Therefore, fault-tolerant control research has importanttheoretical significance and practical application.Content and objectives of this study is first design of the passive fault tolerant controlsystem. When system intact and some parts or components have been damaged, it can obtainthe best control effect of the controller in the circumstances to maximize efficiency. Second,system fault diagnosis results are used and active fault-tolerant control system can bestudied. Get the necessary conditions for the corresponding task of completing system and thecorresponding controller design. The content of the specific finish as follows:(1) This chapter studies the passive fault-tolerant control problem for linear system.When the linear actuator system failure, using the Lyapunov stability theory, linear algebratheory, linear matrix inequality method and poset and so on. First, get methods of control lawK corresponding to the minimum value in order to ensure asmptoptically stable for system;second, get step by step design procedures and methods of control.(2) This chapter studies the active fault tolerant control problem for linear system. Whenthe linear actuator system failure, using the Lyapunov stability theory, linear algebra theory,observer-based fault diagnosis knowledge, LMI and poset and so on. First, obtain a guaranteesystem asymptotically stable minimum of number and the corresponding number of controllerdesign is good; second, obtain a designing method in order to protect system stability byobserver-based fault diagnosis knowledge and choosing effectively a good controller.
