With the rapid development of network technology, users pose higher demand of the file transfer system, and the volume of document needed to be transferred is constantly increasing. Therefore, how to implement the rapid transfer of mass file has become a hot topic. In this background, the thesis designs and develops a remote network file transfer system to solve the rapid transfer of mass file.Besides using multithreading technology and breakpoint continuingly technology to realize the basic function of file transfer, a self-adapting file segmentation and saving algorithm and a network situation-based multi thread scheduling algorithm are advanced in accordance with the characteristics of mass file transfer. For the purpose of enhancing transfer efficiency, files are compressed and divided beforehand. Meanwhile, the number of threads can be adjusted based on the real time network condition. Moreover, file transfer progress display and transfer resuming are developed to facilitate the users.The network file transfer system is composed of the client and the server, using TCP protocol for connection and communication. The server is divided into the file transfer module, the user management module and the access log module. The client has the file transfer module, and the access log module. According to the test results, the network situation-based multi thread scheduling algorithm is of higher efficiency.
