With the rapid development of information technology, human’s life and work continuesto accelerate, more and more people need faster and more timely processing of theirtransactions; desktop virtualization technology, as an important cloud resources, begins toprovide users with anytime, anywhere desktop office environment, and is becoming a newchoice for business users. Working with application virtualization technology, desktopvirtualization can not only provide users of convenient office environment, but also canreduce the cost of enterprise information management, and improve data security.Desktop virtualization’s core technologies include server virtualization technology anddesktop transfer protocol. This paper firstly introduce the basic virtualization technology, thenwe focus on the analysis of major desktop virtualization products and its transport protocol.Through the analysis of ICA, RDP, PCoIP and SPICE protocol, we summed up the keyimpact technical factors of desktop virtualization, finally we analyzed the key principles ofthe SPICE protocol and its implementation.Based on the above research and analysis, we designed and developed the Android-basedSpice client-Spice4Android, then tested and analyzed its performance. At last we gave somepossible improvements in the program, including through the improvement of graphicscompression algorithm classification to reduce network bandwidth, the use of redirectiontechniques to improve the transmission of multimedia effects.The implementation of android client provides a wider range of terminal support todesktop virtualization solution based on SPICE, enabling users to access the desktopenvironment through the mobile terminal. As inherent architectural advantages, Spiceagreement is easier to solve the difficult technology of multimedia applications in desktoptransfer, and will have a better development.
