A series of problems caused during the production of PCB industry attract more and moreattention recently. The traditional PCB manufacturing process is considered to be mature andreliable, but it has such shortcomings as various process, low efficiency, serious waste, severepollution and high cost. The traditional ink-jet printing technology which can form the silkscreen characters and conductive lines on substrates is used in all-printed electronics. Becauseof its high efficiency, low energy and less pollution, it has gradually become the focus ofattention and considers to be the mainstream of the PCB production technology in future.A PCB printing system used in high-speed assembly line which consisted of FPGA, DSPand general-purpose computer is given in this thesis. The FPGA is used as underlyingcontroller and is responsible for printing data processing, USB communication, print headparameters control and printing control. The DSP is used as co-processor and is responsiblefor positioning round image acquisition, parameters extraction and USB communiction. Thegeneral-purpose computer is used to display calibration image, correct printing image, interactwith people and so on. Firstly, the entirety design of the system including hardware andsoftware is introduced in this thesis. Secondly, not only the method about realizing the sopcon fpga, but also the design of some of periphery circuits is given. Thirdly, the design methodof image processing on DSP is illustrated. Finally, the issues about designing ongeneral-purpose computer including data processing and communication is clarified.The PCB printing control system designed in this thesis takes full advantage of FPGA, DSPand general-purpose computer and is suitable for high-speed assembly printing withstationary print head array because of its high location accuracy and real-time. The system inthis thesis is different from the existing equipment which has moving print head andstationary substrate and has already been used successfully in a PCB character printingmachine. And this thesis offers some valuable references for the promotion of all-printedelectronics technology on PCB printing.
