| Since News dissemination is restricted and influenced by the factors of social development, sports news also adhere to the background of the whole social system. China Sports Daily, as the first sports daily organized by the State Sports General Administration, reports the news which is closely related to the development of sports in our country. Especially the news report on mass sports contains a huge mass audience. Analyzing and summarizing these reporting features and concerns to mass sports, we can not only master the characteristics and rules of professional sports news report in our country, but also can provide some practical suggestions for optimizing our mass sports report.Dating from the foundation of China Sports Daily, this paper studies the reports of mass sports by combining the situation of historical background and mass sports development and using some techniques such as Document-data method, case-analysis method and logical analysis to analyze step by step from the angle of journalism.This paper is divided into five parts as following:in the first part, it will introduce some relevant research background, including the general introduction about the disseminative situation of mass sports and the development of China Sports Daily given by mass media. The second part, it will arrange and analyze the source materials we’ve got from four aspects such as the background of starting newspaper, aims of starting newspaper, content of reports and the way of reports. The third part, it will focus on analyzing the characteristics of China Sports Daily to show the concern of this newspaper to mass sports from journalism’s point of view. In the fourth part, it will give some advices to optimize the mass sports. Based on these discussions above, the last part comes to the conclusion according to mass sports report in different developments periods of China Sports Daily.The results are as following:firstly, from the collation and analysis of the mass sports, we can find that China Sports Daily nearly keeps in step with the national sports policy on reporting mass sports and prompting socialist sports case. Secondly, contents of the report are multitudinal and always servicing sports fans. Thirdly the forms of reports are various and abundant in characteristics of the times. However, there are still some deficiencies:news sources from coast to coast are unbalanced; quantities of overseas mass media are few; the content of report is too vague and general; and topics of report are not choosing seriously.Based on these primary studies and analysis above, we can come to the conclusion as following:information dissemination of mass media and the development of mass sports in China share one continuous line; mass sports report is competitive and vigorous; mass sports is changing with the development of mass sports case in China; contents and forms of mass sports reports need to be diversified; the improvement of living standard and the increase awareness of health will promote the development of mass sports report.Countering these problems, we put forward five suggestions:First of all, it creates a good public opinion environment for Mass sports reports in order to heighten the captivating effect of the pictures. Secondly, we must excavate the value of mass sports and enhance in-depth coverage. Thirdly, strengthen the’agenda setting’function of mass sports report. And fourthly, reporting ’down to earth’is an important way to win the audience’s favor. Fifthly, innovating the discourse system and making the voice of traditional mainstream media filtered into readers’minds more deeply. |
