Division of labor is a major existing form of realistic people living in real lifeworld. The thought of division was mentioned and discussed in many of Marx’s works.The paraphrasing and explanation of the division in Marx’s thought, which originatedfrom the critique and inheriting of predecessors’ related theories, were also based on hisconsistent attention to men and their life world, and on the understanding of the practice.Division of labor, which has its rich and specific theoretical content, is a very importantcategory in Marx thoughts, and important clue to understand the historical materialism.Division of labor is a social form of human to carry on practical activities, it is closelycombined with the productive forces and the production relations. Thus, theinvestigation of Marxist work division theory is the key to deeply studying Marxistphilosophy, especially to further understanding of the historical materialism which wasfounded by Marx. The study of Marx work division theory also has the importantenlightenment function to analysis of the current practice and exploring the reasons whycontemporary people are facing all sorts of existence predicament. Whether attheoretical level or realistic level, the further investigation and study of Marxist theoryof labor division are of great significance.
