Accompanied by the emergence of human beings, generational relation cameinto being, which is one of the basic relations of interpersonal relationships. In thetraditional society, generational relation was not actually a problem, whether in senseof psychology or culture. In the modern society, due to the higher rate of socialculture development, the tenser conflict between culture inheritance and culturedevelopment, especially the shock impact comes from the cyber-culture on thetraditional culture; some new phenomenon of generational relation formed which isdifferent from the previous phenomenon. Cultural gap has been deepening andconflict has been aggravating between one generation and another. While in theinterior of a new generation, the time interval of a generation is shortening day by day, which makes the cultural intergeneration change obviously faster. All phenomenondescribed above formed a new challenge for the development of culture. This papermainly talks about the social influences caused by the fission of the psychologicalintergeneration and the cultural intergeneration, trying to do some researches on therelations of them. The whole paper can be divided into three parts. The first part surveys about the basic definitions of psychological intergenerationand the cultural intergeneration. The so-called psychological intergeneration refers tothe differences in age between any age groups and age groups. Because of the sharplychange of age conditions and social environment, the values, thought patterns, theways of behaviors and so on among people of different age groups changed apparently. This is the essence of the formation of cultural intergeneration. The second part is concerned with two main parts of generational relation---thepsychological intergeneration and the cultural intergeneration. The relations betweenthe two are opposed and unified. At the same time, they are also affected by the socialfactors. In the traditional society, social structure was relatively more stableconcerning with people. Several generations or dozens of generations shared almostthe same age conditions and social environment, so their values, thought patterns andway of behaviors were slightly different. In the modern society, owing to the fasterdevelopment and change of society and the influences of Net-media, there appearobvious changes in values, thought patterns and ways of behaviors among different generations. What’s more, the relations between psychological intergeneration and thecultural intergeneration moved from sameness to fission. The third part examines the social influences of the cultural intergenerationwhich develops with a higher change rate than before. Firstly, it stimulates the updateof culture and better people’s all-round development. Secondly, it hinders the cultureinheritance and weakens the approval and cohesion among generations. Thirdly, itleads and coordinates the healthy development of intergenerational culture with theattitude of development and integration.
