Gramsci’s Culture Hegemony And Its Enlightenment For China’s Contemporary Cltural Construction

The Party’s seventh session of the Sixth Plenary Session comes upwith the grand goal that "strive to build a socialist cultural power". And theconstruction of cultural power will inevitably involves Gramsci’s culturehegemony. Therefore, how to stick to the contemporary construction ofsocialist culture hegemony, and strive to create a new situation in thesocialist cultural construction, is an important question. As one of thepioneers of the western Marxism, Gramsci’s culture hegemony theorypointed out the way for the proletariat to seize cultural leadership in thecapitalist society. At the same time, the more important is that, Gramsci’sculture hegemony provides a certain theoretical enlightenment for China’ssocialist cultural construction. Therefore, viewing Gramsci’s culturehegemony as a starting point, the thesis elaborated culture hegemony’stheoretical connotation. After reviewing China’s socialist culturalconstruction history course since the reform and opening up, based on theanalysis of China’s socialist cultural construction, the thesis takesGramsci’s culture hegemony to analyze the current situation of China’scontemporary cultural construction. On this basis, this thesis, from China’ssocialist core value system into, civil society construction and socialconstruction of contemporary public intellectual three aspects, makes morein-depth theoretical interpretation to contemporary socialist culturalconstruction.With the advent of the globalization era, ideological and culturalexchange is remarkable. In the context of our socialist cultural construction,in the light of Gramsci’s culture hegemony, researching the relationshipbetween Gramsci’s theory and China’s contemporary cultural construction is of great theoretical and realistic significance. This is the new place of thethesis. Therefore, doing comparative study between Gramsci’s theory andcontemporary China’s culture has an important significance for deepeningGramsci’s ideological content and research field of China’s contemporaryculture construction.
