As one of traditional flowers of China, rose have broad market prospect. Inthis paper, taking potted rose of primary election as testing materials, which weretransplanted pots. Firstly, selecting suitable variteies as the materials potted rose. Andthen the appropriate medium was selected in already on some foundations. Finally, usingplant growth retardant to dwarf potted rose. The objective of this study was to provide atheoretical and technicall for supporting high quality potted rose and meet the greater needs onpotted rose of the population. Specific content and the results were as follows.(1) Selecting the suitable cultivar for the potted rose. In order to select suitable potted rose,this study chosed16varieties and were potted so that laid the foundation for plantingof potted roses. According to the results, two Miniatures Roses (‘Ziwu’,‘Caihong’)that were suitable cultivar for the potted rose were selected. And take with the method offuzzy comprehensive evaluation to evaluate and ratie for six Floribunda Rosesvarieties and eight Grandiflora Roses varieties. According to the ratings wereclassified. The most suitable for Floribunda Roses varieties were:‘Shijizhichun’,‘Xianjing’, Grandiflora Roses varieties were ‘Maxina’,‘Feishan’,‘Abisalinka’, themore suitable for Floribunda Roses varieties were:‘Matierda’ and ‘Chunzhiwu’,Grandiflora Roses varieties were:‘Jinjiangzhang’,‘Meilangkouhong’,‘Laochuanzhang’, unsuitable for Floribunda Roses varieties were ‘Huafang’,‘Manhaimugongdian’, Grandiflora Roses varieties were ‘Huifei’,‘Dajiaotang’.(2) In order to select suitable mediums for potted rose and prepare production pottedroses of facility, we chosed three mediums to plant. The physical and chemicalproperties of three mediums indication of potted roses were tested. The variance ofdifferent medium with ANOVA and multiple comparisons were analyzed. In the end,the best medium was the (peat+perlite+vermiculite): dry pig manure=4:1(peat: perlite:vermiculite=1:1:1).(3) Effects of plant growth retardants on the growth and development of potted rose.The results showed that: Firstly, it had the different influence to the morphologicaland physiological indices of potted rose, using retardants with different concentrationsand ways. Under the treatments with appropriate concentrations and ways, the plant height could be decreased through shortening inernod length, the plantype wascompact, plants blossom normally. Therefore, the plant value of view increased. Atthe same time, they also could increase the plant chlorophyll content, improve thephotosynthetic efficiency and increase the SOD, POD activities and the sugar solublecontent in the plant leaves. It had a significant effect on the ornamental quality ofpotted rose. Secondly, the treatments by spraying leaves with700mg kg-1PP333andby drenching the roots300mg kg-1PP333were the best results. By spraying leaveswith1200mg kg-1CCC and300mg kg-1DPC were the better results. They coulddecreased the plant height and improve the plant value of view.
