Effect Of Compound Preparation Of Honeysuckle On Pathological Changes Of Chicken With Ndv Artificial Infection

Newcastle disease (ND) is a acute, febrile, highly contagious and deadly infectious disease that mainly infects birds. With the highly death rate and developing rapidly, it badly threatens the poultry industry, it is identified as the first class contagion in our country. However, western medicine is not effective in treating ND, the use of traditional Chinese medicine to treat ND is becoming a new hotspot among Chinese veterinarians. Combining the traditional veterinary theory "strengthening body resistance and eliminating evil "with modern Chinese medicine research, our agent developed anti-ND compound of Chinese medicine called "strengthening body resistance and eliminating evil oral liquid". The efficacy of this medicine was investigated with pathology and immunological methods.27021-day-old healthy chicks were randomly divided into three groups (infection group, blank group and treatment group)(n=90), and fed separately. On day0infection group and treatment group were inoculated NDV whose HA is10through drinking water, each0.1ml. The blank group was given equal saline. After24hours, treatment group was given the compound of Chinese medicine (honeysuckle, Astragalus, forsythia, Atractylodes, Houttuynia, licorice) by drinking water,1ml per day for7days.10chicks were selected randomly in each group on day2,day4,day6, day8,day15,day22,day29,and heart, liver, lung, brain, thymus, spleen, bursa of Fabricius, kidney, muscle, cecal tonsil, trachea, stomach, duodenum, jejunum, ileum, cecum, rectum, pancreas and other organs were taken, the efficacy of strengthening body resistance and eliminating evil oral liquid was investigated through the clinical symptoms and pathological changes, histopathological and ultrastructural pathological changes and the distribution of virus.The results showed that the compound of traditional Chinese medicine strengthening body resistance and eliminating evil oral liquid can effectively reduce the mortality of chicks infected NDV, alleviate the clinical symptoms, ease the damage of the virus in lung, thymus, liver, stomach, kidney, bursa, intestine and other organs, lower the amount of virus loaded in the thymus, spleen, bursa, lung and other organs and shorten the time of the virus existing in these organs, has a good anti-NDV effect.
