Cargo Operation System For Membrane LNG Carrier And Simulation On EcoBOT System

With rapid development of Chinese economy in recent30years, China’s energy consumption growth has been in sustain and rapid development. Of all the energy consumed, natural gas consumed has been rapidly increased. In2007, NDRC promulgated policy for China natural gas usage to ensure china’s energy supply encouraging natural gas import from oversea. Oversea LNG has already become an important element in china’s energy development strategy and pushing a rapid development of china’s LNG import from oversea. Up to now, there are6LNG carriers have been delivered. Following with rise of China’s LNG transportation, the market demand for LNG ship seafarers in China has been greatly stimulated. Seafarers being familiar with LNG ships operation especially knowing LNG ship cargo system operation have already become hot demand in seafarer market nowadays.Meantime, with fast development of international marine transportation business, world large shipping countries pay increasingly serious attention to on safety of lives and shipboard properties. Accordingly, requirement for quality of personnel who are engaged in shipboard operation has been greatly increased. On25June2010, Manila amendments to the STCW Convention and Code were adopted, making major revision of the STCW Convention and Code. The2010amendments will come into force on1January2012. Especially, the new amendment specifies that special attention should be paid to training for all seafarers.The adoption of Manila amendments makes it an important task for all the shipping enterprises to train all the crew especially who are engaged in LNG carrier operation. In this thesis, LNG carrier cargo system will be completely introduced by analyzing the membrane LNG vessel cargo system. The whole membrane LNG ship cargo operation system is simulated. Accordingly, such simulation might contribute to seafarer training on membrane LNG ship cargo system operation.
