The limit equilibrium method and the finite element method is the most commonly usedmethod for slope stability analysis. In order to make the slope stability analysis result is moreaccurate and intuitive application in engineering practice, the domestic and foreign expertsmake the traditional limit equilibrium method and finite element method to get a lot ofimprovement, and great achievements have been gained. Such as the most dangerous slidingsurface is aways search one of hotspots in the field of study.Taking soil slope as the object of study, first of all, based on the traditional limitequilibrium method stability analysis of the calculating process,using the artificial intelligencemethod (ant colony algorithm, genetic algorithm) to improve its most dangerous sliding thesearch method.And put forward a new searching method of soil slope dangerous slidingsurface, for the purpose of achieve rapid and reasonable search dangerous sliding surface. Atthe same time, using calculation procedure of FORTRAN language, through an examplemakes textual criticism.The calculation results show that the traditional limit equilibriummethod by assuming sliding surface to calculate the minimum safety factor, easy omission ofoptimal smooth arc (when the target X function more freedom or search space is irregular, thesearching process easily fall into local optimal solution). The improvement of the artificialintelligence limit equilibrium method is through the traditional limit equilibrium numericalcalculation method as the foundation, optimized and improved the intelligence of the mostdangerous sliding surface search process, the calculation of the effect is good.Then, based on the research of the improved limit equilibrium method, using the Phase2finite element analysis software to the numerical simulation of soil slope, realize the soil slopestability of the finite element analysis, and compared the finite element method analysis resultand the improved limit method equilibrium analysis results, checking the validity of theimproved limit equilibrium method and the feasibility of the dangerous sliding surface searchmethod.Finally, the improved method of limit equilibrium and finite element method applied inHunan Yunxi reservoir dam project, through the two methods of engineering application andcontrast analysis, comprehensive evaluation of the slope stability, calculated results arereasonable and feasible, can provide the engineering design and construction program somereferences.
