The birth of plastics led to rapid development of the light industry as a whole, and the PET plastics are widely used in the packaging of liquid and carbonated drinks, resulting in a lot of wasted polyethylene terephthalate plastic bottles annually. PET, as an recyclable resource, if abandoned, would cause resources waste as well as environment pollution. As comprehensive recycling technology of waste plastics continues to progress, new materials made from processed waste plastics are widely applied. Among all technologies, one would make it possible for recycling PET waste plastics to use as road construction and building materials, which is an effective measure to keep sustainable development. With simple operation, high economic efficiency and lower production costs, the technology also significantly improves the performance of recycled PET products, and has become one of the hot topics in the world.The paper studied the technology about motar with waste PET replacing cement, and designed a method for preparation of plastic mortar. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and DSC test were adopted to identify the specific components of the recycled PET plastic bottles.With the experimental research combined with theoretical analysis, the paper focused on the mechanical properties and durability of the recycled PET plastic mortar. Some factors, such as graded parameters, mix design, curing time, curing environment and temperature were taken into consideration when the paper studied mechanical properties of PET plastic mortar, including elastic modulus, flexural strength, compressive strength. And amount of powder and the case study of nano-calcium carbonate, fly-ash, bituminous partial replacement of PET plastic were also included into the mechanical properties analysis. Durability of PET plastic mortar covered water absorption rate, chloride and sulfate corrosion resistance of electric flux.Test results show that recycled PET plastic mortar has a high strength with a fast time of setting and hardening, And strength of specimen conservation after18hours growth keep stable. The mechanical properties conclusions as follows:1) Aggregate mixing ratio of graded parameter has a significant impact on the mechanical properties of recycled PET plastic mortar. Under the premise of enough workability and compressive strength, the plastic and sand ratio of13 is optimal. In this case, the mechanical properties of the specimen meet the requirements of the road materials, with the compressive strength of32.7Mpa and flexural strength of7.2Mpa.2) The curing environment alao a certain impact on mechanical properties of plastic mortar. And high temperature could improve the strength of the specimen.3) Asphalt and fly ash partial replacement of PET has an influence on the properties of plastic mortar. With asphalt replacement, flexural strength of specimen significantly grows and compressive strength falls slightly. And Fly ash could obviously improve the compressive and flexural strength of plastic mortar.As for durability analysis, the water absorption rate of PET plastic mortar is very low, with the moderate-level chloride ion flux.In conclusion, the mortar with PET plastic waste as road construction materials is feasible.
