With the world population increasing and people on the continuous improvement of living environment, the high-rise buildings are now the main structure form. At the same time, there are more and more countries have built the world’s first high building, this can be seen as the recognition of high-rise buildings by people. But in recent years, the frequent occurrence of earthquake caused the attention of people, after the earthquake of building damage, casualties, property loss are not willing to see, how to reduce the seismic destruction to the high-rise building will become a hot topic. Talent of isolation shows itself from many solutions, not only because it can effectively reduce the seismic action of upper structure, and also it has good economy, so that some of the building after the earthquake can continue to use only by replacing the antivibration supports.In this paper to the application of base isolation in high rise, first introduce the development history and characteristics of isolated structure, and then introduce the isolation structure often used bearings--laminated rubber bearing structure and characteristics, and through the simple description of its vertical stiffness, horizontal stiffness and buckling load of a theoretical formula. Finally, through the finite element analysis software SAP2000were set31m of10floors’to43m of14floors’isolation and seismic model, and carries on the nonlinear time-history analysis, and then to their natural period of structure, inter-story displacement, floor acceleration and shear layers make corresponding analysis. The isolation effect of the high isolation to the seismic responses and characteristics of this effect increasing with height variation is made.After the results of this study show that:at the same height, isolation bearings can greatly increase the natural period of the structure, thereby avoid the seismic predominant period, reduce the seismic action of upper structure, reduce the structural torsion. At the same time when total floor height increases, response under different earthquake wave action is different, but laws are still exist in a seismic wave. This is the main seismic predominant period is affected more than the total floor height increased to seismic response of structure effect. Thus it can be seen,in the high-rise isolated structure seismic analysising and designing, we should carefully select the seismic wave acting on the structure.According to code provisions of seismic select at least three kinds of seismic waves, and their results are unified analysis.
