With the development of the modern textile technology, the textile CAD/CAMtechnology is used in textile widely. The3-D simulation is a development of the CADtechnology. The computer’s speed and correctness are consisted with the designer’sidea and judgment. Therefore, the speed and the quality of the productions can beimproved by using the simulation technology.Jersey fabric is an important part of the knitted fabric. According to thelimitations of the research of the jersey fabric’s loop structure, the fabric’smorphological characteristics should be described correctly. Here, it is to do researchthe method of modeling and simulation for the jersey fabric’s structure. First, we doresearch of the nonlinear characteristics of the fabric’s structure and analysis of theinfluence to the fabric’s morphological structure from the characteristics of the fibersand the yarn. And then do analysis of the fabric’s morphological structure by knittingthe jersey fabric to research the method of modeling the jersey fabric’s structure. Last,the simulation of the jersey fabric has been researched based on the modern imageprocessing technology and the loop’s model. The main content of this researchincludes:(1) Based on the analysis of the classical loop model, such as Peirce model,according to the limitations of the classical loop model, it provides a foundation forestablishing a better model.(2) According to the limitations of the classical loop model, considering theinfluence to loop morphological structure from the bending performance of differentfibers and yarn. It is to analysis of the different fabric’s bending performance from themicroscopic structure of the fibers and yarn. The bending performances of the jerseyfabric’s materials are tested based on the method of cantilever beam.(3) Through knitting the jersey fabric by using the different materials anddifferent structure parameters, based on the fabric’s scanning electronic microscope,to observe the fabric’s morphological structure and research the influence factors of the jersey fabric. From the orthogonal experiment, to analysis the influence degree ofthe different fabrics’ structure parameters. If the loop structure parameters aredifferent, then its morphological structure is different.(4) Based on the structure characteristics of yarn and loop, the three degreeNURBS is used to establish the jersey fabric’s structure model. NURBS curve has alot of advantages, such as controlling, which is used to establish the loop model bysetting the value points.(5) Based on research of NURBS modeling, the models of basis fabric,variational fabric and complex fabric have been established, which solved the classicmodel’s limitations.(6) Based on analysis of the loop’s simulation, to design and develop asimulation-software for jersey fabric. According to the principle and the way ofOpenGL graphics processing, the show program of NURBS loop model and the3-Dsimulation of jersey fabric have been developed.
