The giant panda habitat in Sichuan(Ya’an) is unique in the World Natural Heritage. For now the study on the flora and its diversity of the region is weak. The most concentrate in one genus, species or part group. The small scope studies are not enough to make the diversity of vascular plants in the habitat and floristic characteristics clearly, which is negative to the study and the protection of the habitat. For these reasons the first relatively comprehensive background investigation conducted within the habitat in April2009-June2010with the support of Office of the World Heritage in Ya’an.According to the activities scope and the distribution of the giant panda, the vascular plant in an altitude of1000-4200m of two nature reserves in the habitat (Fengtongzhai National Nature Reserve-Formation Wang, the speakers River Nature Reserve-Labahe), two scenic spots (folderJinshan scenic spot-Xinzhaozi Channel, a large the Xuefeng scenic spots-the Vulture Peak), and five natural ecological corridor (Mahuang Channel, Dengchi Channel, Meili Chuan, Puji Channel and Ganyang Channel) are chose to survey and establish a database of vascular plants. The results are as follows:The vascular plant in the habitat is quite rich. As a result there are2246kinds of vascular plant. They are distributed in773genus of161family. The113kinds of ferns are belonged44genus of26family, the31kinds of gymnosperm are belonged to15genus of8family and the2099kinds of angiosperm are belonged to718genus of127family.According to the vascular plants distribution type of the dominant families and genus in the giant panda habitat, the distribution has a typical temperate zone and tropical characteristics and obvious advantages. The dominant family and genus in the habitat are28and38, which are66.74%and29.38%of the total families and genera.Nyssaceae, Eucommiaceae, Ginkgoales Engler are found in the habitat, which are only distributed in China.105genera and131species share39.18%and27.73%endemic genera and endemic species in China. Endemic genera can be divided into15distribution types or subtypes of China.Diversity analysis of the characteristics of the vascular plants flora character of the nine regions found that plants in the protected areas are rich, the flora type is relatively centralized, the diversity index of the natural ecological corridor is the highest, indicating moderate human interference and activities help to increase biodiversity; the presence of the scenic area of state-owned forest farms lead to the dominance, species are relatively concentrated in the northern temperate zone, pan-tropical and the world distribution of flora, the evenness of regional flora in eco-tourism development of is the highest, showing the impact of the tourism development on biodiversity.By similarity analysis, principal component analysis and cluster analysis, affinities of nine of the vascular flora of the region is divided into four types: Ganyang Channel, the Vulture Peak, Dengchi Channel and Meili Chuan is the same type, Mahuang Channel, Puji Channel and Xinzhaizi Channel is the same type, Wangjia Channel and Labahe are of different types. And find that the closer the geographic distribution the higher the similarity.
