The human resources is regarded as the engine of economic growth due to making other factors of production yield increasing return. More and more scholars are taking attention to human capital theory. Now in the construction of economic zone on the west side of the straits, the human resources are one of the most important conditions in the regional economies development.Took Fujian province as research sample, this paper analyzed empirically the effect of human capital in economic growth basing on human capital theory. Making use of 1978-2009 economic data of Fujian province, the paper estimated the human capital and physical capital every year in the period. And then the paper introduced Econometrics method to analyze the problem. After doing those jobs, the paper argued that Fujian province's economic growth is driven mainly by physical capital, which making greatest contribution to the growth of the province. Also the paper had chosen the east district of Fujian, the south district of Fujian, the west district of Fujian, the north district of Fujian as samples. Using the relevant data of the districts, the paper carried out particular analysis. The conclusion suggests that the human capital investment in Fujian province is weak but it still possesses great potential in economic growth. Finally the proposed some advices to boost the human capital investment and economic growth according to the qualitative and quantitative conclusion. |
