Laser diode (LD) side-pumped all-solid-state electro-optic (e-o) Q-switched Nd:YAG laser has many advantages of high repetition rates, high peak power and narrow pulse width, which is a very important research subject in laser technology and has extremely broad application prospects, such as military and national defense, industry processing, medical therapeutics and the scientific research, and so on.Based on the investigation on the research situation, development trend, research achievement and the application of LD side-pumped all-solid-state e-o Q-switched Nd:YAG laser in the domestic and foreign countries, the design scheme of LD side-pumped all-solid-state e-o Q-switched Nd:YAG laser is presented and completed.In this thesis, the light field and heat distribution model in the LD five-direction side-pumped laser crystal is simulated; Based on the e-o Q-switched rate equation, the relation between the peak power, output pulse width and inverse population are studied; the output characteristics of the laser, energy extract efficiency and the optimal reflectivity of the output mirror are calculated and simulated.Based on the theoretical analysis, designed a scheme of LD side-pumped all-solid-state e-o Q-switched Nd:YAG laser and a thorough experimental study has been made, which use Nd:YAG crystal for work material, plane-plane resonant cavity, KD*P for electro-optic Q-switch crystal, acomplished a LD side-pumped all-solid-state e-o Q-switch pulse laser. When the Nd:YAG is pumped by pumped-current of45A,its Q switched mode single pulse energy is52.08mJ, pulse width is19.47ns。Orthogonal in Baltic Prism cavity experiment, When the Nd:YAG is pumped by pumped current of70A,its Q switched mode single pulse energy is70mJ, pulse width is22.74ns。...
