Web Service composition technology includes WS-choreography and WS-orchestration. Choreography describes peer-to-peer collaborations of Web Services participants in a global view. Orchestration refers to an executable business process that interacts with both internal and external Web Services, representing control from one participant's perspective. Web Services Choreography Description Language (WS-CDL) is a choreography standard released by W3C in 2005, which, as a new standard, left many aspects for further research, such as its graphical representations, formal model, and transformation with orchestration standard. Due to these problems, the existing tools, like Pi4SOA, use self-defined graphical representations which are usually unreadable, and transformation rules from WS-CDL to BPEL are not reasonable. This dissertation mainly deals with two of WS-CDL key technology researches regarding WS-CDL graphical editing tool. That is WS-CDL graphical representation and its transformation to BPEL. In the research of graphical representation, this dissertation defines a set of proper graphical notations, and implements the transformation from graphical model to WS-CDL document. The graphical model has the strength of describing WS-CDL elements from a higher level of abstraction, presenting control flow properly and highlighting interactions between participants. Meanwhile, this dissertation presents transformations rules from WS-CDL to BPEL, with which one WS-CDL document can be transformed into several BPEL documents in accurate manner. In the end, this dissertation implements a graphical editing tool based on predefined WS-CDL graphical notations using eclipse plug-in GMF, and achieves the transformation rules using XSLT.
