Along with the social economy and the rapid development of science and technology, the access control system base on traditional technology can't meet modern security needs of growing community。Based on physiological characteristics of the biometric technology has been developed and widely applied on access control system。Palm vein recognition technology is one of biometrics technologies ,it is rapidly growing in recent years and occupied an important position in the field of biometric identification。But this technology has not applied to the access control system yet ,so it's meaningful to design a access control system based on palm vein identification technology, The new system can provide reliable, practical, high-security。First, Analyzed the development status and trends in domestic and foreign about access control system, and Investigated the state of biometrics identification technology application in access control system, then described the purpose and significance to designing an intelligent access control system base on vein recognition technology. The basic concepts,working principles and the basic algorithms of the vein recognition technology are described, and compare with other biometric techniques to clarify its technical characteristics ,then proposed a new project to design an access control system based on vein recognitionSecond, Using Fujitsu Palmsecure sensor to complete hardware and system software overall design and build an access control system ,then test the new access control system that based on palm vein recognition access control and evaluate the test results。It shows new system can be adapted the small scale high security requirements。After improvements of network function and integrate RFID card, the new system can be applied all-round.Finally, summarizes the contents of the research project and research results, proposed project need improvement, and look to the future.
