As a category of control algorithm adopting online receding horizon optimization, model predictive control (MPC) attracts much attention of industrial and theoretical researchers due to its good control performance and capability of handling constraints explicitly. This algorithm based on a linear or un-linear model can predict the future status of the system and adopt online receding horizon optimization to optimize the system control. However, disturbance and uncertainty of model always appears in the practical object, we can not obtain the exact system model. That makes robust model predictive control a hot subject of modern predictive control.This issues introduces the theory of predict control and several classical predict control algorithm first. Then introduces a latest offline synthesis algorithm of robust model predictive control and it's application strategy. After that, use the algorithm to control a constant temperature constant pressure boiler system, design a emulator in MATLAB to simulate the system control process and compare the result of simulation with PID algorithm. At last, construct a PLC control system based on this algorithm to prove the practicability of it.
