The pursuit of student assessment should be served for the development of students, which promotes the full development of students on the basis of their original level. However, when we carefully examine the practice of student assessment, we find that the dislocation of assessment purpose, the alienation of assessment function, the narrowness of assessment contents, the singularity of assessment body, and so on, make the present student assessment restrict to shackles of traditional student assessment which can't break through. It results in the loss of humanity care and the impediment of students'development, which is criticized by more and more people.The further development of new curriculum reform inevitably accompanies the diversification reform of student assessment. Meanwhile, differences between individual students and needs to students'individual development require that as for student assessment, diversification should be regarded as assessment orientation. Constraints on humanity of present student assessment become more and more obvious, while diverse student assessment bases on understanding and concerns about humanity and it pays more attention on students'health and overall development. The two key words: development and diversification, should be the termination of the past trends, the pioneer of a new era of student assessment theory, the solution to solve the problems of student assessment formalism and the promoter of untrue things.The construction on the theoretical system of diversification student assessment facilitates student assessment return to its true meaning of discovering and developing students'potentials, highlights its humanity care of enhancing students'life awareness and quality, reflects its core values of cultivating students'innovative spirits and practice ability, realizes its ethical pursuit of promoting education equity and helps student assessment smooth away the present plight successfully.Based on the theoretical foundations of multiple intelligences theory, postmodernism and Marxist theory on human's comprehensive development, diversification student assessment has the assessment concepts of orienting life, respecting differences, paying attention to process, and emphasizing on development, upholds the assessment principles of education, authenticity, dynamics and diversification, proposes the combination of education, teaching and student assessment in practice, and requires enhancing student assessment's openness, process and situation. Moreover, diversification student assessment advocates the diversification reform of every aspect, the whole process and multi-dimensions to improve the scientific and effective student assessment from the perspectives of assessment aim, assessment function, assessment criteria, assessment method and assessment body so that it can get rid of the shackles of the traditional student assessment completely and achieves the goal which promotes the students'individual freedom and comprehensive development.
