Study Of Water Resource Utilization In Zhejiang Province

With the rapid development of economic society, demands for resources are increasingly greater.Not only as a basic natural resource, water resources play an important role in ecological environment,and it's one of the elements of the natural environment, but also as a strategic economic resource, waterresources also play an important role in the entire national economy and social development, and it's anintegral part of national power.Water resources are in dire needed as the economic development in Zhejiang province, wherehas relatively rich water resources with limited available amount due to the influence of rainfallcharacteristics and its terrain features. This study, based on an analysis of the situation of waterresources in Zhejiang province, chose agriculture water as the point of entry, used a preliminaryestimation of the ecological footprint to calculate water resources of Zhejiang province. The resultsshowed irrigation water resources significantly higher than other water projects and lower utilizationefficiency in water resources ecological footprint in comparison of10thousand GDP. We next used amodel of ecological carrying capacity to carry out a preliminary assessment of sustainable utilization ofwater resources. Results displayed that the water resources in Zhejiang is in the state of sustainable use,and the bearing capacity of water resources in Northeast of Zhejiang is near overload, we must strive toimprove the utilization efficiency of water resources, and reduce the water resources ecologicalfootprint in order to guarantee the sustainable use of water resources. However, carrying capacity ofwater resources in southwest is still very strong, and there is a certain developmental and utilizationextension. At last, we analysed the water problems from the six aspects of resources, social, water price,management, technology and crop distribution, and combined with the above six points to present somecountermeasures from development, protection of water resources, water market, water pricemechanism, management system, utilization efficiency, and crop structure. This could provide practiceof sustainable use of water resources for Zhejiang province.
