| Recentl,a large number of early constructed highways gradually entry the period of the overhaul and reconstruction in our country. The projects generally occupy the original road, so the vehicle operating environment becomes more complex. It not only drops the link capacity, but also easily leads to accidents. Therefore it is urgent and necessary to improve the traffic safety in work-zone.On the basis of previous studies, the paper analyzed the characteristics and causes of traffic accidents in work-zone roads by proceeding with the traffic statistics. Then the effictive safety measures for the work-zone were proposed from different aspects. The section of highway work-zone was modeled by Vissim that is a kind of microscopic traffic simulation software. Some important parameters in Vissim were standardized by taking advantage of the orthogonal experiment so as to obtain the suitable parameter values for the truth of Chinese highway. Selecting standard deviation of the vehicle speed as security evaluation criteria, three safety measures (warning area length setting, speeding limit program and traffic diversion program) were simulated that could get the most reasonable option. |
