The Research Of Design Characteristics Of Shaanxi Weibei Column Bases

With thousands of years of technology progresses and the building materials and construction continuous update, Shaanxi Weibei column bases have being replaced by new materials and new technology and withdrawing historical arena gradually. But its shape and decorative arts in the folk art still occupies an important position. As a kind of wonderful art deco buildings, not only has it the practical function, but also has the esthetic value.The Main object of study of this thesis is the Weibei column bases. On the base of massive On-the-spot investigation, interviews to Weibei various counties , the author has studied the Shaanxi Weibei column base's distribution situation, the human geography environment, the building function and the decoration characteristic and the historical source and course evolves, present situation and so on. The research result indicated that the Weibei column bases are very characteristic with its rich forms, artistic modeling rough vigorous, the simple composition and brimming with strong life breath. Its design selected mainly for the propitious grain type theme, reflecting unique humanities and special characteristic of the people of north Shaanxi Province and the folk's custom point of view: disposition straightforward, approaches things philosophically simply, the avocation survives and multiplies, pursuing riches and honor and so on. This article also discusses the aesthetic of Weibei column bases from point of view of the artistic characteristics. The paper aims to research Shaanxi Weibei column bases systematically so that its artistic features could development continually and did not be buried the thing of the past, but rather be referenced and taken in new art form to show it.
