Visual model utilizing computer graphics processing technology can express very complicated and even abstract concepts. The application of visual model can show the spatial distribution and the direction of stratum well. Visual model of coal quality information for working face combines geographical information with computer graphics providing coal staff with correct coal quality analysis data, and helping decision maker direct the development of coal production in the practice which fundamentally enhance the efficiency of coal quality management.The paper, which is based on the research of coal quality information management system, uses the Eclipse development environment of Java, combines with the B/S structure, the MVC model, and applies Spring framework to integrate with WebWork, FreeMaker and Ibatis technology, designs a convenient, efficient and interactive system, which helps coal staff achieve the daily management of coal quality production, including a large number of data integrating, summarizing and reporting. However, the geological map is particularly important, it can greatly improve the efficiency of images generating, real-time data interacting, as well as the property of data storage, which is easily delayed or lost based on paper storage. So the research provides an accurate and high efficiency digital service for the coal quality control.The highlight of the study is designing and consummating the visual model of coal quality information for working face. Firstly, the study focuses on smoothing the charcoal drawing curve for the working face which plays important role on excavation progress to assist coal production. On the basis of large amounts of experimental data, the paper uses cubic spline interpolation to achieve the smoothness of the line segment. Furthermore the paper applies the methods of inserting nodes and boundary constraint in order to make smooth curves accord with the design requirements of production.Secondly, the study models the prediction of spatial coal quality. Comparing with some familiar 3D development software such as OpenGL, Java3D, VRML and Direct3D, JOGL is chosen to carry out the prediction of spatial coal quality considering of the system development environment. The paper is based on the projection principle to simulate spatial reserve model of coal quality forecast, takes the viewport transform as basis to make the spatial reserve model rotate, which provides coal staff different angle to observe the columnar information of coal seam-sample. Also, the study applies mathematical model of nonlinear programming with constraints to the optimal solution to simulate the pillar and the curved surface of coal seam, and the simulation in Matlab can be achieved.
