In the domain of radar target detection, the impact of pulse radar signal contains large instantaneous bandwidth and rich frequency components. So the impact pulse radar is advantage in detection range and detection resolution. Therefore, in the domain of radar target detection, the impact of pulse radar is always the hot research area. The high voltage and narrow width Gaussian pulse source could make the effective distance and detection resolution better balance. In a typical target or hide buried target detection application, the impact of pulse radar signal is nanosecond width. while for less than 10 meters in terms of target detection, signal amplitude is usually required 100v or 1000v. Because of specificity and the complexity of technology, there are no commercial products. So developing the high voltage and narrow width Gaussian pulse source is not only an important technical and theoretical value, but also has significant value in engineering applications.This paper drills in high amplitude with narrow width pulse source research. The content contains Gaussian pulse technology analysis and research, the signal source of design, and using multi-stage cascade MARX circuit technology to realize the pulse source program.Through the research, a range of pulse source which amplitude is from tens volt to 700volts and the pulse width is from 1ns to 3ns, are designed and developed. the pulse signal source has successfully applied in the pulse radar system, and meet the requirements of radar system. tested by object detection imaging, the pulse source obviously increases the impact of pulse radar detection performance.
