Recently, virtual community on the network has gradually gathered a lot of popularity. They opened up the home belonging to the groups with the vast horizon; the participants gradually formed a virtual group.Facing the new communication environment, the optimistic scholars point that virtual community will give people unprecedented democracy. However, in the virtual community, the freedom of speech and guard are symbiotic exist in the same time, while active participation going with not enough exchanges , and serious topic becoming game, all of which intentionally or unintentionally shows a weak dawn of the public space, meaning there is a large gap between virtual community and public space.This paper aims to analysis differences and the interconnections between virtual community and the public space putting forward by Habermas, discussing the development and direction of virtual community from the perspective of communications and sociology.This paper is divided into seven sections, firstly defying virtual community after introduction, and then elaborates on the meaning of the public space and development process, Chapterâ…£discuss the contradictions faced by virtual community when it builds "freedom" polis Chapterâ…¤analysis the difference between virtual community and public space from the angel of interaction and exchanges, the sixth chapter analysis the democratic plight of the virtual community, the last part research entertainment trend essence of democracy in virtual community.
