Many weapons, especially the active jamming and anti-radiation missiles pose a huge threat to the survival of traditional radar. Multistatic linear frequency modulation continuous wave radar (LFMCW) is a new radar system that has a broad application prospects with a good ability of anti-destruction, anti-jamming, and detecting stealth objectives. In this paper, study on multistatic LFMCW radar is presented in the following areas:First, the signal model of multistatic LFMCW radar system is introduced, and the expression of echo signal is deducted too. A method of target localization for multistatic LFMCW radar is studied. The simulation with single target is shown, and some results are analyzed.Next, multi-target localization using multistatic LFMCW radar system is presented. The method of rectangular area search is discussed. Radar's capability of target detection is analyzed.Then, The anti-interference ability and low-interception of multistatic LFMCW radar system are analyzed. The advantages of the multistatic LFMCW radar are summarized, and the positioning accuracy is also discussed.At last, the Ambiguity Function of multistatic LFMCW radar is analyzed, and the expression of Ambiguity Function is deducted. The resolution of radar system in different conditions is simulated.
