Fiber optic sensors are known to have distinct advantage over conventional sensors in terms of electrical isolation and immunity to electromagnetism interfere (EMI), and has attracted more and more interesting in recent years. Fluorescence fiber temperature sensor, as one kind of fiber optic sensors, can be divided into two types, which is sort of fluorescence intensity and sort of fluorescence-lifetime.In this article, the design of a intension ratio fluorescence optic fiber senor system based on a new kind of rare-earth fluorescence material is discussed, and applied on the measurement of area temperature. The result shows this system can be used to monitor the temperature inside the plane. The system has been proved to be a promising choice of temperature measurement in optical-conveyed aircraft control system. In this article, the key technology of fluorescence-lifetime fiber temperature sensor, theory of phase-locked detecting method of fluorescence lifetime, is also summarized and analyzed. And several phase-locked detecting systems have been studied contrastively.
