Since the high purity requirement of water makes the proportion of silicate in water an important monitoring item in modern industry, the high efficiency rapidity and precisemeasurement of the proportion of silicate(SiO3-2) in water turn out to be an importantscientific subject in the present water analysis. The measurement of the silicate density in water is conducted online by chemiluminescence theory, which indicates that the sampled water added certain amounts ofvitriol (H2SO3) and ammonium molybdate ((NH4)2Mo4O13-2H2O) is added luminolafter the chemical reactions take place .The sampled water containing silicate can produce chemical light, the strength of which is proportional to the silicate density .Photoelectric Magnification Tube receives the chemical light and then transfers it into voltage signal, which is input into microcontroller after its A/D transformation. After the process of data is automatically carried out in microcontroller, the density of silicate in water being calculated out can be displayed by LCD or typed by printer or displayed by meter in distance actuated by 4-20mA current loop or put into PC by RS-485.The entire measurement process is automatically conducted by microcontroller. Meaning that the performance can be calibrated and detected density precision can be adjusted online and also parameters can be set up in the process. The instrument has some intelligence.
