The background of this paper is one of the Tenth Five National Defense Technology main pre-researching projects: the research of sample of electromagnetic radiation characteristic extracting of fighting planes of south-east inshore with real background. It mainly researched the pivotal technology and realizing way about targets' detection, tracking, data compressing in that targets' recognition sample system based on active low-resolution radar. Then it researched the modules of radar targets' detection and tracking adopting DSP technology. What's more, it realized the non-anamorphic compressing of radar echo data based on the statistical characteristic of wide-band target's echo signals. The result of research referred in this paper has been used well in the targets' recognition sample system based on active low-resolution radarThis paper is consist of five chapters. The Chapter one is the preface. In this chapter the origin of this project and the meaning of developing is introduced. Then it described the system of targets' detection and tracking. In Chapter two the algorithm of low-resolution radar target detection and tracking is researched. It provided the foundation for realizing radar detection and tracking system. In Chapter three the realization of hardware of radar targets' detection and tracking system based on the TMS320VC33-150 DSP chip is mainly introduced. The working flow, the performance and developing status of DSP chip, the unitary structure and all parts of the system are simply introduced. The design of DSP software is discussed in Chapter four. It includes the detecting algorithm based on sampling relativity and tracking algorithm based on the successional theory of moving targets. It also realize the communication of DSP and host computer. In Chapter five the algorithm of data compressing which is solution to transmit radar data between long distance is introduced. The result of this paper resolve many pivotal problems of radar targets' detection and tracking. It provides an applied premise for automative sampling of data of targets' characteristic, extraction of characteristic and recognition. The data compressing software in this paper low the request of band to transmit data of targets' characteristic. It improve the efficiency and safety of remote transmission.
