While modern war came into the em of high technology, stricter requirements have been put ford to the properties of tactic mobile network, such as anti-demolition, anti-jam and mobilization. In 1980's, Mr. Baker raised the principles and technologies of self-organization of short-wave network. Using this technology, the ability of network reorganization and high quality of service in network can be guaranteed under the condition of high mobilization. However, the short-wave fiequency-hopping communication network adopting this technology is made up of traditional radios. The shortcoming of this network is that although it can organize network periodically and communicate simultaneously on different frequencies without any interference, the process of communication must strictly proceed in respective frequency without any change. This will limit the improvement of the ability of network anti-demolition, and could not conduct the flow control and congestion control of network better. Recently, with the rapid growth of soft radio, a new technology of Multi-band Multi-mode R.adio(MBMMR) has been applied widely. MBMMR is a single radio which can be deployed by software. It synthesizes the radios on different frequency into a single MBMMR, and makes it more flexible in capability and use, which means the process of communication can switch easily among different frequencies. This article absorbs some new thoughts of active network, and studies a method of Network Self-organization Based on Multi-Band Multi-Mode Radio using the improved algorithm of cluster linkage. Based on this method, We use Block Oriented Network Simulator (BONeS) to build simulation module. Through the simulation, we collect the datum in message and packet delay, network throughput, and packet loss rate, and analyze capabilities of the network based on them. This article consists of five chapters. Firstly, in chapter 1, we briefly describe the development and design principles of self-organization of short-wave network. In chapter 2, we introduce the improved algorithm of cluster linkage and the architecture of MBMMR. In chapter 3, we introduce this network simulation model built on BONeS Designer, including the system framework, execution process, system simulation parameters, data stnictures. Chapter 4 presents partial simulations results of this system, and analyzes them. In chapter 5, related conclusions in our study are stressed, and the deficiencies of this system and the way to modify them are described.
