Tang Dynasty Shanxi Province Agricultural Research

The paper views mostly the agriculture in Shanxi area of Tang Dynasty at the regional agricultural economy angle , learns from search methods of Economics,and so on .From the starts of Geographical environment, Population, Water conservancy construction ,the paper studies mostly the agriculture in Shanxi area of Tang Dynasty from the following severala spects :crops'planting ,economic'crops distributing , stockbreeding ,fishery and so on .Shanxi area located in the eastern part of the Loess Plateau and the west side of North China Plain ,was parallelogram tilting from the north-east to the south-west .The region was surrounded by mountains and rivers .The topography was very complex .The mountains and hills were in one of the most extensive areas .Since ancient times ,The forests were dense ,and the climate was humid.From Han Dynasty to Sui Dynasty ,Shanxi had been one of the fastest growing areas in population development in the country .At the end of Sui Dynasty ,there had been a significant decline in Shanxi's population ,but early in Tang it started to recover quickly .When it was in the golded age of Tang ,the population had reached its peak .When AnShi Rebellion was outbreaking ,it suffered great destruction ,and appeared a sharp drop fast .Later, the total population continued to develop from the low, especially the southern region had a higher population density than before .Early in Tang Dynasty ,there had builded a large number of water conservancy projects in Shanxi. By the mid-Tang and late-Tang ,the water conservancy constructions in Shanxi were not in stagnation ,but had built a lot of the hydraulic Engineerings ,which played a large role in the irrigation ,and provided the protection for agricultural production .Food crops in Shanxi focused on millets and wheats ,looking from the crop'distributing :the millets and wheats which were planted in a full chip shape distributed mainly in Fen River ,Su River and Zelu Mountain in the south of Taiyuan ;rices were planted mainly in Taiyuan and Hezhong ,which were only a scattered distribution ,but the plant or area was considerable .Economic crops such as mulberries ,fruit trees ,vegetables and herbs were planted generally in the villages.The most noteworthy respect was the planting of grapes in Shanxi ,which were planted in a large area ,and developed from the center to the north and the south . Looking at herbs :Shangdang region produced ginsengs ,the most precious of which were the ginsengs planted in Purple Mission Peak .The pasture being suitable for grazing in Shanxi was abundant which was more developed in Sui-Tang than before .The government which had developed government-run animal husbandry vigorously established the monitorings of Loufan ,Xuanchi and Tianchi ,which were important as the official bases of the horses .The civil-run animal husbandry which had many types and distributed widely mainly breeded livestock by home .As the deep processing of agricultural crops ,alcohol industry in Shanxi was well-known by the nation ,the most famous alcohols were Mulberry wine, Fen wine and Grape wine that was a tribute because of its sweet .All of Tang Dynasty ,Shanxi'sagriculture went through recovery, development , destruction and reconstruction .At the nationwide , Shanxi's agriculture was in the very important status .The area's food production were rich ,whicn offen were supplied for Guanzhong, and so on .Shanxi was also the major region of the food trade .To the history as a mirror ,one can know the rise and fall of the dynasty .By Shanxi'agricultural economics is studied comprehensively ,the paper maybe have a little reference for the economic development of the agricultural in Shanxi Provice today ,which is the purpose of the article .
