Qiubai Literary Thought

The developmental course of Qu Qiubai's literary theory roughly undergoes such stages as its incubation period around the May 4^th Movement, formation and development period during Qu's stay in Russia and his return to China and maturity period after 1930 when he took up literary creation again .Its contents are rich with such essentials as the methodology of literary sociology, the nature of class ideology ,the popular orientation of value systems ,the consystency of oral and written creation language and the methodology of realistic creation. Qu's literary theory is unique and distintive featuring openness, class division and practicality . He took the lead in applying the position and viewpoint of Marxism to the relatively systematic analysis and explanation of literary issues, initially built the literary theory system of Marxism with Chinese characteristics and ushered in a new era in the history of Chinese literary and artistic ideology ,thus historically enhancing the formation of the Chinese modern literature and art and the development of literary cause and making significant contributions to the formation of Mao Zedong literary ideology .However, Qu's literary ideology is not free from obvious historic flaws and theoretical errors .Further study of Qu's literary ideology is of great importance in offering enlightenment to the construction of contemportary literary ideology system of Marxism and the current literary and artistic creation...
