In order to set up a base for the analysis of the importance of the role that Overseas Chinese played in Thailand through analyzing the ancestral homes and jobs of them.Section3. Evolution from overseas Chinese Society to Ethnic Chinese Society. It is a historical necessity that the Overseas Chinese Society evolutes to Ethnic Chinese Society .Besides the reasons of the evolution, this article present the manifestation of it as well. Ethnic Chinese is a quite new concept in the study field of Ethnology. Having resided in a country for long, the Overseas Chinese Society dooms to become an ethnic group that is different from both the two main nationalities at the ancestral home and the resided country. For the more assimilated groups, they get along better with the main nationality and other ethnic groups around them. Been such a community, the Ethnic Chinese in Thailand is occupying more significant positions in the politics, economics and society of the country.
