Social control is essential because social order must be established in society and moral principle is an important way of social control. Moral principle can develop the people's understanding in ideology and consciousness of morality by its power of persuasiveness and admonishment, so that, it can made people observe moral standards of socialism and help to form fine social custom of which the people seek to be noble and the advanced can get encouragement, and it can steady social order and make the purpose of social control to be true. In the article, the problem of social control that is by the may of moral principle in modem china is explored through applying principles of ethics and theories of social control in sociology comprehensively, and the way and measure of social control by way of moral principle are put forward on the foundation of summarizing the experience in moral construction during last years.There are three parts in the article. The first part is the basis of social control that is by the way of moral principle. Then by comparing the practice of the western and eastern social control, Investigating respectively the practice of the social control in moral in western and eastern, analyzing the present moral condition in our country, and discussing the real - life basis of social control that is by the way of moral principle.The second part discusses the main contents of the social control in moral that is it's core, principle and the point exerted. Firstly, the objective basis that serving for the people is the core of social control in moral is analyzed, and the meaning and the demand about serving for the people are also analyzed. Secondly, the scientific connotation of collectivism that is the principle of social control in moral is discussed, and several connections that must be comprehended correctly and transacted right are put forward. Finally, the point exerted of the social control in moral is discussed, the function and characteristic of the social morality, the occupational moral, and the family virtue is analyzed, and it is clear and definite to point out the basic rule and request of the social morality, the occupational moral, and the family virtue.The third part is about the approach carried into execution of the social control in moral.
