Study Of The Early Creation Of The Xi'an Film Studio

Xi'an Film Studio is an important base of Shaanxi films, even all western films making. The first two decades, which from 1958 (established) to 1978, not the golden age of Xi'an Film Studio, but also included the creation of some excellent works. As a "former western movie" era, Xi'an Film Studio completed the historic task of special age on the two decades, at the same time, proved up the direction of development of western film, born the seeds of the western film, thus, the two decades is a history which can not be neglected.This paper takes the view from the film history, the period of this research is to locate before the Xi'an film studio's magnificent developing time "the great new age", focus on the studies of its early creation in four aspects. First aspect will reorganize the development trail and vein of Xi'an film srudio before the 1980s, analyzing the early produce history of Xi'an film studio, it will divide into three stages, the developing, declining and restoring ages; second aspect will research the early creation of Xi'an film studio by universality and indigenous characteristic, Further studies will main on the details of theme and content from each film type; third aspect to summarize the filming style and esthetics characteristic from the early works of Xi'an film studio, analyzing respectively by concrete works; fourth aspect, according to the research above, seeking the dialectic organic relations between the early works and medium-later works about Xi'an film studio, the studies of these early works will be researched through the whole Chinese western films history, to establish a comprehensive and profound understanding about the creation history and further development of Xi'an film studio.
