With the coming of Knowledge Economic Era, education becomes the focus of the world once again. With the development of education reform, a new teaching-studying has drawn great attention of the world. In China, we define the style "Inquiring Study". The essence of the "Inquiring Study" is the researching subjects selected and set from the students' real life and social life with the instruction of the teachers, based on the students' independent research. They are implemented individually and in groups. It helps the students obtain direct experience from scientific spirit and attitude, grasp basic scientific methods, improve the ability of using knowledge and solving practical problems.At present, although nearly all of the senior schools have carried out inquiring study, many junior schools, even elementary school also made experiment with great vigor. After searching for many literatures, we find the inquiring study in middle vocational school; especially in railway vocational school is still blank. Through the analysis of the domestic and foreign status of inquiring study, this paper have described the necessity and feasibility about carrying out inquiring study in railway vocational school. After the experiment of inquiring study in the major of railway wire man, we prove that it's urgent for railway vocational school to carry out inquiring study in the foundation of professional knowledge. It's beneficial for students to take advantage of school major, develop students' major advantage combined with the related knowledge, cultivate the creativity, and improve the practical skill, comprehensive special skills and ability of craving out in order to promote the students' personality.
