| Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) is an engineering plastic with excellent performance, including mechanical properties, chemical resistance, and good flowability, having highly usage value. With scientific and technology development, the demanding of PBT is broadened, the usage area is more and more specified, and there is higher requirement for the performance of PBT, While the PBT plastic parts have the shortages of easily distortion and notch sensitivity. The fonctionalizing and performance improving of PBT plastics becomes the focus of research. With the research objective of suppressing warpage/distortion without sacrificing mechanical performance of PBT plastic, the research of the thesis has important engineering value and theory meaning.The shrinkage and mechanical properties of PBT mixture with inorganic fillers (GF, Talc, Calcium carbonate and wollastonite) were studied. First single inorganic filler was added to study the performance of PBT mixture, the feeding method and GF content for best shrinkage uniformity and mechanical property were obtained, the influence of each inorganic filler to PBT mixture performance was analyzed. Based on this research result, the PBT mixture with two inorganic fillers was studied. It was found out that the shrinkage uniformity of PBT mixture with both GF and wollastonite was obviously improved, and the mechanical performance and heat distortion temperature were optimized as well. The content and propotion of GF and wollastonite for the best shrinkage uniformity and mechanical performance were determined after comparing and analyzing the experimental results.With the research to PBT modification with inorganic fillers, the formula of modified PBT plastics has usage value for the area with demands for parts’dimensional stability. The analyzing and research conclusion can supply theoretical and practical reference for developing and exploring new functionalized engineering plastics. |
