Urbanization is the inevitable trend of modernization,the principal representation of urbanization is urban expansion phenomenon,so , the research of urban land expansion has become the focus of academic circles at present.YinChuan is the important area central city at the east of northwest territories of china.With high-speed industrialization and urbanization,its'urban land expansion is speedy and has important significance for accelerating the urbanization of the western region.In a decade,the area of urban founded zone has been increasing with 5 square kilometers/ annual speed,even in the past few years is to increase with speed higher than 10% .However,its'growth still gives first place to rough style development,a lot of problems are discovered with the rapid growth of urban land.So,the study of YinChuan's land expansion is beneficial for us to knowing current situation objectively, grasping the historical period of urban growth correctly,analysing the direction and trend of urban land expansion reasoningly,discovering the ploblem,in order to provide theory basis for working out reasonable urban planning.At the same time,prevents the disordered sprawl of urban land and relieves the contradiction between population and the land.Nowdays,the research of urban land expansion of YinChuan is seldom,even a systematic theory sum-up.
