With the development of economy and the realization of moderately well-off society, rural tourism has become an activity of people's ordinary consumption. Developing rural tourism has significant importance to develop rural economy, to solve the issues concerning agriculture, countryside and farmers, to encourage exchanges between town and country, and to build a harmonious community. Nowadays Chinese rural tourism is still on the initial development stage. Tourism marketing has many problems and short-comings. Therefore, rural tourism development needs a system theory and empirical research to rapidly instruct to be health sustainable development. The thesis, based on the introduction of existed theories, make use of questionnaire survey and the analysis way of Excel to analyze rural tourism market feature in the suburbs of city.The thesis contains four chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, it exposit the context and the significance of this study in and around the world. The second chapter is the theoretical foundation, research methods and research routes. The third Chapter is empirical research, it analyzes rural tourism market feature in the suburbs of Changsha city. The fourth chapter puts forward some workable proposals.The following conclusions is made after the analysis: rural tourism market potential in the suburbs of city is huge, tourism activity focus on family feelings ,means of transportation is private cars or unit vehicles, the leisure is the primary motivation of tourists. The rural attraction is the primary determinants of the rural tourism, the frequency of rural tourism is high; The expectation is low, the degree of satisfaction is high, the seasonal characteristic is obvious, the traveling expenditure promotion space is big; the rural characteristic is very popular. Distinct differences appear in gender, age, education backgrounds, income level.The research also finds that there are many problems in rural tourism markets. Therefore the author put forward some proposals such as the development strategy of tourist source market, the development strategy of rural tourism products and construction of rural tourism service system.
