| The equipment manufacturing industry is one of the main backbone industries innational economy; heavy machine tool industry is the foundation of the equipmentmanufacturing industry and national defense industry. Heavy duty machine tools as amechanical equipment machine tool, the development of downstream industries suchas shipbuilding, engineering machinery, aerospace, automotive, railway, powerequipment, wind power equipment, power equipment, refrigeration equipment andpetrochemical equipment plays a decisive role. With the rapid development of heavyduty machine tools, precision is requested higher and higher, its internal partsmanufacturability of parts is becoming more and more complicated. In turning processfor large parts using a large CNC vertical lathe, only using turning is often difficult tomeet those requirements, further grinding is necessary. But general grinding machineis difficult to be used for its specification limit. In order to adapt to changing marketdemand, in the form of processing means need to improve. This will require amodification of the existing large CNC vertical lathe, equipped with grinding headgrinding processing, to achieve parts in order to achieve high precision requirements.This paper proposed a modification to a large CNC vertical lathe, equipped withmotorized spindle, grinding wheel system. Retrofit scheme must be without changingthe machine tool structure as a whole and not reduce the machine to the originalprocessing ability and the precision, at the same time try to save the cost, shorten thecycle of conditions. After completion of the renovation of machine tool grindingability of the actual verification, and the grinding process is analyzed.A CKX5240CNC vertical lathe made by Wuhan heavy machine tool group co.,Ltd has been remade a grinder. A motor and a grinding wheel were refitted at thebottom of the slide. Grinding test was carried out for taper sleeve, mirror plate ofwater turbine and other large parts, Grinding experiment results show that groundsurface quality, machining efficiency and precision are greatly improved compared tothe traditional way of turning process.This paper provides the theoretical basis and engineering example for remaking alarge-scale and high precision grinding machine from a CNC vertical lathe. |
